Volunteer for Ottawa & Jermain Park!
If you would like to assist
in seasonal cleanups, have some construction skills that you would like to donate, or distribute flyers in the neighborhood, send
a note to the above address, or an E-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org
So we are asking for help from those who use this park—you. A non-profit 501 (c)3 has been established to make it easier to donate
for Ottawa/Jermain & provide sponsorship. 100% of the funds benefit these parks. Please help.
Send us a check (tax deductible)
for whatever you think you can afford, payable to Friends of Ottawa - Jermain Park, and mail it to: Friends of Ottawa - Jermain Park,
c/o Mick Murnen, 2017 Christie St., Toledo, OH, 43606.
Or 'Buy a Brick'--honor a loved one or friend. This is also tax
deductible. Click Here

Ottawa & Jermain Park need YOUR help!
For years Toledo has systematically cut back funding for city parks and associated
recreation activities. Current funding is less than 1% of the city’s total budget! Popular programs have been eliminated, facilities
closed, and needed maintenance deferred. The park bench picture at the right is an examples of the maintenance
problems in Ottawa Park.
Studies have consistently shown that quality parks are a major factor in attracting skilled personnel to
cities. But our parks are no longer at that level.
Your park board has raised money to support the park for years. We sponsor the
Summer Concert Series, Pumpkin a Rama, secured funds to install a new floor and chiller system in the ice rink, replaced shelter roofs,
helped fund the Ottawa Gate sculpture, and organize park cleanups. In 2019, The Friends of Ottawa-Jermain Park received a $50,000
District Improvement Program grant to construct a concrete walkway and an entrance arch in the amphitheater. The Parks Dept.
donated funds to rebuild the amphitheater steps and stone walls (2nd picture). Sadly, this is not enough.
Spring cleanups by Reggie's Bike Shop & the Volunteer Trail Patrol.
