Why have a city Park?
Designer Frederick Law Olmsted believed that the park would provide a "restorative power" for people living in the community.
Why have a park board?
To establish a team of ordinary citizens committed to fulfilling the legacy and the intended purpose of
the park in the best interests of the public.
