Mountain Biking

Let's Ride!

The first mountain bike trail in Northwest Ohio is in Jermain Park. It was built in 2010 by volunteers and is 3.2 miles long. The trail is easy to ride and starts across from the tennis court at Jermain Park, near Upton Avenue. The first part of the trail has lots of twists and turns but is mostly flat. After going under the Monroe Street bridge into Ottawa Park, there are loops with shortcuts. The harder part of the trail is on the other side, with a climb to the top and then a series of ups and downs like a rollercoaster. This trail was created by a group called Toledo Free Ride.

In 2012 and 2013, another section was added, making the trail 6.4 miles long. This part has more hills and tricky spots in Ottawa Park. You can get to it from the trailhead and then go west under the Upton Street Bridge. In 2021, a grant paid for new bridges, and the section next to Kenwood Boulevard was made harder and longer.

The trails are easy to follow, and there is plenty of parking at the trailhead, which you can enter from Upton Avenue. If you want to reserve the trail for an event, you should contact Shawn Sobel at the Toledo Division of Parks, Recreation, and Forestry.
